It was time again for the clash of the federations - Higashi vs. Biko - the event was held in a different hotel this year but remained in Slough .

The Luton club arrived from different parts of the country, Karen was driving from Bournemouth, John from Luton and Phil from Watford . We all arrived about an hour before the start of the event which gave the lads time for a quick drink before getting into our suits. However, Karen was all in a flap as she only had and hour to get ready, I suppose you can't rush a masterpiece!

All poshed up, we entered the hall and took our seats. The teams were introduced and you could feel the excitement in the air. This was heightened on our table as our good friend Paul Smith's son, Connor was fighting at Cadet Level.

The levels of the fighters varied from international/world level to that of national competitor coming up through the competition circuit. The international fighters certainly knew how to entertain the audience, with spinning hook kicks, take downs and lighting fast reverse punches.

Each of the fighters had three fights and each of the fights was timed between courses, with the last bite taken and the final fight completed it was time for the results. HKK had won the most fights overall and were crowned the winners of the competition.

With fighting and eating finished, we continued our evening's entertainment with drinking and dancing to the early hours; great fun had by all.
