
HKK Championships 2005 Rivermead, Reading - November 5th

The Luton Lunatics had a fantastic day when they Luton were crowned the #1 club in the coutry after cleaning the board at the 2nd National HKK Compatition. Thirteen trophies were won in all.
Medal winners were as follows:
Kata

Alena Majeed (middle) - Only 8 years old, Alena impressed the judges to take the gold in the Special Kata, 8th Kyu.

Louise Newman (middle) and Marc Aitken (right) took the gold and silver for Luton in the Senior 8th-5th Kyu Kata.

Kayleigh Farrow (middle) and Leanna Brady (left) took the gold and bronze in the mixed 7th-6th Kyu Kata.

Zahra Majeed (middle) got her second gold of the year. This time it was in the mixed 5th-4th Kyu Kata.

Ayushi Sharma (middle) - Luton's very own WKC world champion proved her rightful place again by winning gold in the girls' 3rd-1st Kyu Kata.

Sam Wright (right) - Sam, ranked third in the (WKC) world, took the silver in the Ladies' Black Belt Kata

John Hurley (middle) - Luton's Chief Instructor won the gold in the over 35 Kata category.
Kumite

Louise Newman (right) - Louise won her second medal of the day in Ladies' 7th-4th Kyu Kumite where she took the silver.

David Thomas (left) - David won the bronze in the Boys' 16-17 age category for free sparring.

Enrico Puddu (left) - Enrico won the bronze in the Male yellow-green belt kumite category.

John Hurley (right) - The last medal of the day went to John who won the silver in the over 35's Kumite.
All in all, this was a fantastic day out for the Luton Lunatics and we won more medals than we ever hoped for. Now we're number 1, we've got to work harder to make sure we stay there next year too!
