Luton Higashi Club Quarterly Merit Awards - September 2004
It was again time to publicly recognise the students who had put the most into the club and who had got the most out of it. This quarter's winners were:

Award winners - Ellie, Jeff, James and Tyrell in front
Jeff Archer - most dedicated senior of the quarter. Jeff has been invaluable to John and Alex in the running of the club. Hardly missing a lesson, Jeff is always on hand to help out at anything from taking students through their basics to cooking at John's BBQ! Well done, Jeff.
Ellie Austen- most improved student of the quarter. Rarely do we see a student with as much dedication as Ellie. After coming over as a 1st Kyu from Tae Kwon Do she has not missed a single lesson. She has also attended every single course available! This has naturally led to a huge improvement in her karate. Congratulations, Ellie, well deserved.
James Mason - most disciplined student of the quarter. James has trained with great discipline and has also improved as a teacher. His spirit is an example to everyone - he will take on two black-belts in sparring with no fear at all. He is also the benchmark when it comes to stretching. His discipline and practice have given him Van Damme-like suppleness!
Tyrell Greenidge - most improved junior of the quarter. Tyrell has shown great effort and dedication as he prepared for his grading. Despite his tender years, we see his commitment to the club when he is spotted correcting the other beginners. The adults were awarded bottles of wine and
the juniors were awarded book vouchers.
