Luton Higashi Club Quarterly Merit Awards - March 2005

It was again time to publicly recognise the students who had put the most into the club and who had got the most out of it. This quarter's winners were:

Award winners - James, Kayleigh, Sam (and Zahra, not pictured)

James Mason - most dedicated student. James has won an award every single time and not without reason. He comes to every lesson to help teach the juniors and then he particpates in the higher grade lessons. He can be relied on to help out at any time and for that, we would like to show our appreciation.

Kayleigh Farrow - most disicplined student. Kayleigh has just been training for a few months but her discipline in attending every lesson and putting everything into it has meant that her karate has improved dramatically. And also wins her this prize.

Samantha Wright - most improved senior. Sam has had a meteoric rise in karate. Over the last three years, she has risen from an orange belt to a competent 1st Kyu. She has also won herself aplace in the national team and regularly wins trophies in competitions. Her teaching has also improved dramatically, so she has now been officially promoted to assistant instructor.

Zahra Majeed - most improved junior. After taking a few months of holiday, Zahra is back and and making waves. She didn't win anythng in her first competition last year, but came back in 2005 to win the gold medal for her age and grade. On top of this she also excelled in her grading to attain a first class pass. Well done, Zahra

The adults were awarded bottles of wine and the juniors were awarded book vouchers.
