This was a larger grading than normal and the panel was really pleased by the high standard of gradees. The students put a huge amount of effort into the run up to the grading as well as the grading itself and it showed in the results! Performances of note were as follows:

Brown Belts

The Lunatics are delighted to have three new brown belts who all passed with first class passes. They were really put through their paces with a 2.5 hour grading.

Dave Blagg – showed remarkable endurance throughout the whole grading without seeming to flag. He was as strong in the kumite and blocks and counters at the end as he was with the basics at the beginning of the grading.

Fiona Dow – dug to new depths as she found her previous limits and surpassed them in the kumite. Fiona showed excellent form combined with a determination to keep going even as fatigue set in.

Omari Asein – possibly cold blooded, Omari actually got faster as the other gradees were getting tired. He displayed some excellent form, especially with his kicks.

Double Gradings

Klaudia Kulakiewice – In this, her first grading, Klaudia amazed the panel by putting in such a clean performance, with such determination, that she was voted to double grade to a 1 st class pass in her yellow belt.

Tyla O'Halloran – It was also Tyla's first grading and her standard was extremely high. She was clearly pushing herself to her limits (and finding new ones) when she had to leave the room for a few minutes, only to return and complete the grading in style!

Other First Class Passes

Jessica Parkes – Jessica showed a solid understanding of the basics and put a huge amount of effort in to also be awarded a first class pass.

All in all 14 people passed their gradings and the panel would like to congratulate every one of them on their success!
